Wedding photography in Bangalore involves as much thinking about traffic as about light. A city wedding here routinely runs a muhurtham in one part of town and a reception in another, and the drive between them at six in the evening decides how much of the couple portrait session actually survives. We have shot weddings across Bangalore since 2009 and the plan we build with you is as much a schedule as a shot list.

Wedding photography in Bangalore: venue types and what each demands

Bangalore gives you four broad settings and they are not interchangeable. Kalyana mantapas run to a tight schedule with several families using the hall in a day, so access is limited and the ceremony will not wait. Heritage and palace venues look extraordinary and often restrict lighting, tripods or drone, which is worth confirming in writing before the day. Five-star ballrooms are reliable but need light brought in, because the house lighting is built for dining rather than photography. Farmhouse and outskirt venues towards Nandi Hills or Kanakapura Road give you space and sunset, and cost you an hour of driving each way.

Traditions we shoot across the city

Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marwari and North Indian weddings, Christian church ceremonies, Muslim nikah, and a growing number of interfaith weddings that borrow from two orders of service at once. The practical difference is timing. A South Indian muhurtham can fall before sunrise; a North Indian baraat and pheras can run past midnight. Those are different working days, different lighting kits and, honestly, different team sizes — which is why we ask what tradition the wedding follows before quoting anything.

Season and weather

The heavy wedding months run November to February, when Bangalore is dry and cool and outdoor evening functions work without a contingency. April and May are hot but manageable. The one thing worth planning around is the second monsoon in October and early November, which brings short, sharp evening downpours — enough to end an open-lawn reception with very little warning. If your date falls in that window, a covered fallback is not pessimism, it is just sensible.

Pre-wedding shoots in Bangalore

The usual shortlist is Lalbagh and Cubbon Park early on a weekday morning, Nandi Hills before sunrise if you are willing to leave at four, and the quieter heritage streets around Basavanagudi. Permissions matter more than couples expect here — Lalbagh and Cubbon Park both charge for commercial shoots and do enforce it, and Nandi Hills fills with day-trippers by eight. We schedule these early for that reason rather than because the light is better, although it is. They are also the easiest way to get used to a camera before the wedding day itself, which is the real argument for doing one at all.

Where in the city we work

Wedding photography in Bangalore means covering the whole city, and we keep separate pages for the areas couples ask about most — Koramangala, where our studio is, along with Indiranagar, Jayanagar, JP Nagar, HSR Layout, Whitefield, Yelahanka and Hebbal. Bangalore is also where most of our destination work starts: couples based here marrying in Goa or back home in Kerala.
