Thinking about a pre-wedding shoot?
A pre-wedding shoot is a few unhurried hours with just the two of you and a photographer, weeks before the wedding, somewhere you actually like. There is no schedule to keep and nobody waiting for the next ritual. Fog Media has photographed couple shoots since 2009, from the tea hills of Wayanad and the laterite cliffs of the Malabar coast to the lakes and old streets of Bangalore.

How We Plan It
Pick a place, not a pose
We start with where. A spot you both know, a hill station you have wanted to visit, or the beach near where one of you grew up. Once the place is fixed, we plan the light around it: early morning or the last two hours before sunset, because the middle of the day is unkind to everyone.
On the shoot we give you a little direction and a lot of room. Walk, talk, ignore us. The best pictures come from the bits in between, and the shoot is also a practice run for the wedding, so by the time the big day arrives you are used to having us around.

Wayanad gives you tea estates and mist; Goa gives you old houses and the sea. In Bangalore, couples often choose Cubbon Park, the lakes, or a drive out towards Nandi Hills for the early light.
What to bring
Two or three outfit changes is plenty. One casual, one dressed up, and one traditional if you want it. Bring comfortable shoes for walking between spots and keep the heavy jewellery for the wedding. If you want props, keep them small and personal: the book you were reading when you met beats a giant heart-shaped balloon.
Pre-wedding shoots across our cities
We photograph pre-wedding shoots in Bangalore, Kannur, Calicut, Wayanad, Goa and Hyderabad, and we travel for destination shoots. Most couples add the shoot to their wedding package, which is usually the better value, but we also photograph pre-wedding shoots on their own.
Delivery
You get the raw files on the day of the shoot itself. Once you choose your photos, the edited set follows, and if you want a small pre-wedding album or prints for the wedding entrance, tell us at the time of booking so the timeline works.

Questions couples ask about pre-wedding shoots
How long does a pre-wedding shoot take?
Plan for half a day. Two locations and two outfit changes fit comfortably into an early morning or a late afternoon session, and the best light is at both ends of the day.
When should we do the shoot?
Four to eight weeks before the wedding. That leaves time to edit the pictures and use them for your invitation, a save-the-date film or the welcome board at the venue.
Do you help with locations?
Yes. We have shot across Kannur, Calicut, Wayanad, Bangalore and Goa for years and will suggest spots that fit the look you want, the season, and how far you are willing to drive.
Do we need permits?
Some places do. Forts, tea estates, private resorts and some parks charge a shoot fee or need a permit letter. We will tell you which of your shortlisted places need one and what it costs, so there are no surprises on the day.
We are camera shy. Will that be a problem?
Almost everyone says that. We give you simple things to do and keep talking, and within twenty minutes most couples forget the camera is there. The shoot is also good practice for the wedding day.
Can we do a pre-wedding film too?
Yes. A short film shot on the same day works well as a save-the-date or as the opening of your wedding film. Ask for it when you enquire so we bring the right crew.
